I drew this butterfly to illustrate some lines of my own poetry - the left wing representing pretty days, and the right; peaceful nights. And the reason for the butterfly is because the full poem, not shown in the piece, is as follows:

'Somewhere along the line, I learnt to be a butterfly,
I spread my wings and search the sky
Pretty days & peaceful nights
It's a kind of paradise'

I stippled the butterfly by hand using pigment fineliner pens, while the abstract paint textures from the awesome Unsplash were digitally applied in Photoshop
