A hand drawn Atlantic puffin and laysan albatross originally created as part of my Final Major Project at University, which aimed to raise awareness of the threat posed by plastic in our oceans and its impact on marine life. They are a part of a collection of seven illustrations, each featuring an animal highlighted in research as being among the most affected by the issue. These illustrations have gained recognition beyond the original project, with some selling as prints, making them an important part of my portfolio.
Fave fact about puffins: Their colour changes depending on the time of year! In the winter they have a darker (almost black) face, they lose the yellow highlight from their bills and the orange is a lot less vibrant.
Fave fact about albratrosses: They have the largest wingspan of any bird.
