This project was all about exploring minimalism – using just a few key elements to get the message across, using recognisable objects that instantly connect to a theme or story.
The posters focus on the 1969 cult classic, The Italian Job; with the aim of turning its most iconic scenes and quotes into bold, simple visuals that fans of the film, would instantly recognise. Scenes include the famous Mini Cooper chase through tunnels and down staircases, the explosive van moment (“you’re only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!”), and the unforgettable coach cliffhanger. I also created a bonus calligram version of that final scene, giving it a playful, typographic spin.
