This piece was my submission for a competition held by Snow Patrol during the pandemic lockdown, inviting fans to create artwork for the cover of their Fireside Sessions EP. The EP itself was a collaborative project between the band and their fans – each Saturday, over five weeks, Gary Lightbody hosted live streams where he gathered lyric and chord suggestions, writing songs from the shared contributions.
In my design, which was hand drawn in Procreate, I used fire & flames as the central theme, forming them into the shape of a guitar to reference the music being created. The hands in silhouette represent people coming together. Overall, I wanted to evoke the feeling of sitting around a campfire and the sense of warmth and togetherness it brings.
